Separation and return (excerpt from the book)
I have long studied the human race from the perspective of what separates people from God? Why do so few seek, and even fewer find, the way to God? In these few introductory thoughts, I summarize my findings.
The uneducated people are separated by ignorance.
Lack of knowledge that they are unaware that God is not an entity that exists independently of them, but is the purest part of themselves. Because they do not know the way to this realization, they don't come closer to themselves.
The educated people are separated by knowledge.
The acquired knowledge about the world is so manifold, and the capacity of the mind is so small in comparison, that the mind is completely occupied with storing, putting together and combining what has been learned. So, there is no more room for God's seeking.
The poor are separated by poverty.
Because they are forced to spend their days trying to get their daily bread, they have no more energy to develop the skills that could lead them to the knowledge of God. Because they do not know the correct technique of prayer, even when they do pray, its effect is too small to produce a remarkable result.
The rich are separated by richness.
Vast wealth opens up such opportunities for them to experience worldly pleasures in a way that God cannot fit into, and even appears as a mental barrier that they interpret as a limit to their freedom.
The monks are separated by dogmatism.
The monks walk a particular path, which the founder has already stepped before them. However, God can be approached by everybody in an individual way, so they must sooner or later dare to stray from the trodden path, which they do not have the courage to do.
The freethinkers are separated by freedom of thought.
The freethinker is an ontological philosopher who breaks away from dogma and recognizes such an immense number of paths that he is unable to try them all and make sure they are passable. That is why, after a while, he becomes lost in the jungle of his own making, his mind preoccupied with countless versions of the possibilities.
Women are separated by men.
The woman who lives the feminine quality wants to follow the man who represents the masculine quality, but the man goes astray and so he does not offer woman any upliftment to God.
Men are separated by women.
Women who know the way to God scare men away because they cannot live the male quality next to them, and other women tempt them to worldly pleasures.
The children are separated by parents.
Because they present false, childish and hypocritical images of God (old man with beard above the clouds)
The parents are separated by children.
Because they are preoccupied with acquiring the material goods necessary for their upbringing.
The criminals are separated by the fear of judgment.
Because they fear that they will be punished by God, they prefer to deny Him. Not knowing that all penalty is the punishment of their own higher consciousness.
The judges are separated by judgment.
Because they do not know that when they judge others, they judge themselves.
The young are separated by inexperience.
Because they do not know that the only real meaning of their lives is to find their way home (to God).
The old are separated by fear of death.
Because they don't know that only the body dies and the soul is eternal, or if they believe this, they fear what may happen to them after death, because they think not to have effect on it.
The hermits are separated by lonely.
Because there is no external mirror against which to compare their progress and they cannot share the love with others.
Those who are living in society are separated by socialization.
Because they have to fit into the social pattern system of the society, and God-realization requires breaking away from patterns.

It must be clearly seen that material wealth will never be enough to satisfy everyone, and that self-restraint on the part of the rich and efforts to change the lot o ...
