Philosophy of the Universal Christ Consciousness Movement
God is existent since forever, eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, infinite in dimension, and not created. He is complete in Himself and therefore needs no one and nothing. He can take any form and manifest Himself in any form. He exists as an unmanifested (non-created aspect) too, in this form, although He knows Himself, He is unknowable, because there is no independent being who can know Him. In this aspect, it can only be described in negative terms: it is not like this, it is not like that. The non-creator recognizes a part of Himself as the Supreme Person: "I am the Supreme Person!" This is the first thought. This part is Oneness, because the named part is in unity with the unmanifest Being.
The Oneness can become a creator by recognizing within itself two forces, the creative and the sustaining aspects, because only the unity of these two forces can produce sustainable creation. The very first creative thought would immediately vanish if it were not accompanied by the sustaining force which preserves it. Creative thoughts are constantly being generated, but manifestation can only come about if the sustaining force contributes. When the struggle between the two forces is balanced, equilibrated, then occurs the creation as a lightning, which is the projection of a thought-spark into the external (unmanifested) aspect of the Supreme Person. The thought-spark runs through the unmanifested elements, illuminating and touching them, whereby each touched element becomes self-aware and manifests as part of the Transcendental Reality in which God, as a personal Supreme Self, places out Himself.
The Transcendental Reality is eternal and self-glowing, in its everything has already names and functions and "on its throne sits the personal Godhead". The powers of the personal God (Supreme Person, Supreme Self, Bhagavan, Krishna, Narayana, etc.) are the creative power (Christ force) and the sustaining power (Holy Spirit, Paramatma), the light of the Supreme Person emanates into the unmanifested and becoming visible as impersonal Brahman radiation. On the pattern of the Transcendental Reality a further outpouring of creation occurs. From this point, the personal God entrusts the continuation of creation to a part of Himself who is a non-separated full-part (a person in union with God, having full consciousness), His further creation bringing into being the dual (bipolar) world, using the two forces, the creative force creating the forms, the sustaining force filling the empty forms with content. Creation, from the point at which a non-separated full-part of God takes over it, repeats itself, for in it each element becomes again a creator.
In Transcendental Reality there is no need for Law, because there everything is governed by divine consciousness. The Creator of the dual world creates the Law (Tao, Dharma), which is above the dual world, regulates its events; the emanation of the Christ Force manifests the cosmic consciousness while the emanation of the Holy Spirit (Paramatma) the cosmic love, which are the levels of realization of the impersonal aspects of these powers.
The impersonal forces are constantly evolving into personal aspects as the number of beings who have realized and incorporated this force to the fullest level, increases. Thus, the creators of the material world (Lord Brahma) are the multitude of personalities who have most perfectly realized the Christ Force, and who have created a series of material Universes, few of which have manifested in gross material (physical) form as our world is. And the person who most perfectly realized Paramatma was Jesus Christ, who thus became the personal form of the impersonal Paramatma and was fixed as a divine archetype.
It is thus perceived that in the infinite Universe an infinite number of God-realizations can be imagined, from which we can individually choose according to our inclinations. The different forces and energies are represented by different persons in the several planes, who have undertaken to stop at that plane to assist beings in developing God-consciousness in creatures. For example, the Virgin Mary is the archetype of the realization of cosmic love, and the Buddha is the archetype of the realization of cosmic consciousness or Law. Enlightened yogis', who are attracted to the impersonal aspects, aim is the realization of Brahman, while many of them aspire to attain the Christ Force (e.g. Mahavatar Babaji) or Krishna Himself (e.g. Caitanya Mahaprabu). In the meditative state, Lord Shiva is the embodiment of the World Spirit, meditating on the creative Christ Force. His consort Shakti (Durga, Parvati, Mother Earth) is the anti-polarity responsible for the maintenance of the material world. These two forces are present in the universe separately, the two forces can unite only when Shakti withdraws her power from the material world, as if leaving it alone, then the material world begins to decay and is automatically destroyed.
In fact, we can choose any realization of our own free will, but our guides and inclinations will steer us in the direction that is available.
According to the philosophy of UCCM, the created world is not governed by the impersonal Law, but by the personal God, but for those who have not recognized the personal God, the impersonal Law will be the determining factor in their destiny. This is why Jesus' teaching is true: 'according to our faith is given', because everyone is treated and dealt with according to his/her faith and level of development.
According to the UCCM philosophy, there is no sin, no punishment, no punishing God, only the law of retroaction works, whereby man draws to himself/herself the events by which he/she punishes or rewards himself/herself according to his/her own faith. However, since faith in a personal God overrides the operation of an impersonal and therefore mechanical Law, there is forgiveness, mercy, and salvation from God's causeless favor for beings who bow before God.
According to the UCCM philosophy, creation has a purpose and meaning, which is nothing but the eternal evolution of created beings for the purpose of knowing God at the highest possible level, in the process of which there is a rest (abiding) in a temporary state of consciousness, there is a giving up of Self-consciousness and immersion in the impersonal aspect, etc., but the ultimate goal is to enter into the Transcendental Realm, from which there is no return to material existence, except in the company of the Bhagavan with the full consciousness. Until we get there, there are temporary planes of existence, available by the grace of the Self-realized masters to evolving souls who are as yet only capable of leaving the gross material world.
According to the philosophy of UCCM, the only source of bliss is a correct philosophy of life in which the individual finds a source of joy and solace in the midst of the overwhelming contradictions and disparities of material existence.
According to the UCCM philosophy, the development of the individual soul (microcosm) repeats the universal (macrocosmic) developmental processes, i.e. the same thing happens in small as in large (above and below). The first divine thought is the realization of the existence of the Self (Atman), followed by the recognition, balancing, unification and direction upward of the two forces (creative force: yang, sustaining force: yin), resulting in the person becoming self-luminous (the light of the Atman flows unhindered from the being). This state is also called Shiva-Shakti unification, which automatically destroys the illusory world in the individual's consciousness. It can be experienced that the material world of the macrocosm is not annihilated by realizing Shiva-Shakti merger, but the microcosmic material world of the individual is. Therefore one, as an individual, has come out of the material world and can take one's place at a particular point in the Universe where one can continue to exist by performing one's service consciously or unconsciously. One can retain one's personal consciousness in the progress towards God only up to a certain point according to one's level of realization, just as in the presence of a Self-realized master of higher consciousness the disciple can neither speak nor retain his/her individuality, but can only dissolve. Then the being either dissolves, giving up completely the individual consciousness which he/she has perfected through many lives, or he/she takes up his/her appointed place, where he/she can devotionally develop his/her service to come still closer to the object of his/her worship.
- is universal; because it is non-denominational, non-dogmatic, gives everyone the opportunity to develop within the framework of their own faith, and because it gives the opportunity to realize any aspect of God.
- provides a guide towards the realization of Christ; by which we mean both Jesus Christ and all the masters who have realized the Christ Force to a greater or lesser degree, as well as the realization of the Supreme Self (Paramatma),
- is conscious; moving towards the development of the highest consciousness through the conscious efforts of the disciple.
