Paramahansa Yogananda
The last smile

The following poem was written while reading Paramahansa Yogananda's book "Autobiography of a Yogi" in a meditative state.  I was greatly influenced by Yogananda's life and work and the photograph of him before of his mahasamadhi. This photo is called "The Last Smile" because it is the last message he sent to his followers in this world. But those who approach him and his teachings with humility can experience his irresistible smile from another dimension. With this poem I would like to thank him for his teaching as a grateful disciple.

You are as beautiful as the Angels are.
You shine more brightly than a star.
You radiate infinite love on my routes;
You've driven away my fears and doubts.

I am standing beside you in my dreams.
My soul is filled with infinite peace.
It would be good to walk together the infinity,
In the light of your love to wait for divinity.

If it could flow to me Thy merciful charity,
Thy blessing would fill me up with clarity.
And when I awake from my sleep some-day,
Then I could see your shining light walking away.

People, unaware of this inner core, live in a false self-identification, mistakenly identifying themselves with their body, emotions or thoughts. Because the latter will be different for each person, they think they are different, nicer, better than others. This is true, if we consider the personality traits, but it is not true from the perspective of those who see the inner core. For they know that the divine self ...
